Biography of Reverend Joshua Kunadu

Welcome Message from the Head Pastor of the Bronx Assembly

Psalm 8:1-2;

O Lord our God, How excellent is your name in all the earth, who have set your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have ordained strength.

My life as a young Christian, and my character in the formative years, were shaped and

molded, in Assemblies of God Church, Central Assembly of God, Kumasi, Ghana. God, in His

unmatched wisdom, used the leadership and varieties of dedicated Christians, to help build

my Christian walk, and made my experience in His salvation, more meaningful. I was

introduced to intensive, detailed biblical studies, prayer, and how to do spiritual warfare,

trained to be a Sunday school teacher in the process, and became part of the witnessing and

evangelism team in the church. This participation in the church activities developed in me the

basic, solid, foundational, qualities and virtues that made me who I am today.

Call to Ministry

My involvement in the journey of ministry, has been profound, and challenging. My initial

struggle to respond to the call of God to full-time ministry, was one the most painful and

difficult decisions I made, since I thought it was to give up my own plans, hopes, and

aspirations. Little did I know the glorious, and beautiful experience that journey was going to

be. I eventually responded to the call of God, that took me out of my family home, and I

have never turned back. When the local church leadership recognized the grace of God upon

my life, for the ministry, I was initially sent to a village, to do a church planting, as a proof of ministry.

Now the church became fully committed, and invested in me, to have the necessary training

and the equipping that would enable me, to eventually become the man I am today,

pertaining to the service of God. The church paid for me, to go to Tema, Ghana, to do a

Disciple training program, (DTS) and the school of church planting and leadership (SCPL) with

Youth with a mission Ghana, under the auspices of University of the Nation’s (U&N). I served

with Youth With a Mission, and became part of the school team, and outreach leader. Youth

With a Mission, is a Missionary Organization.

In 1993, I came back to serve as a Pastor of Assembly of God Church, in Kotei, Kumasi. While

Pastoring, I also did Theological training at Assembly of God Bible College, Kumasi. As a

Pastor of the church, God through his mercies helped us to buy a plot of land, to start the

church structure, and a place that could build a parsonage for the Pastor, that was the state

in which I left the church, when God called me as a missionary, with Youth With a Mission,

Japan. There, I worked with University of the Nation’s, as part of the school team and

Outreach leader. Through the mercies and the grace of God, we did evangelism, in most of

the cities in Japan, and Macao, China.

Marriage, and our Experience in America

My beautiful wife, Theresa Afrakomah Konadu, and I, got married in a Missionary field, in

Japan, on August 7th, 1999. In 2000, we came America, to continue my leadership training,

in University of the Nation’s school, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, called Impact Evangelism

School. After the program, God led us to New York, to work alongside Rev Dr. Isaac Arku, and th

e Light of The World Ministries, whom God have used to support and help us to this day. God

in his mercies and grace, while in New York, for the past 15 years, has blessed us with our

dear, and precious children, Hannah Jacqueline Konadu, Joshua-Emmanuel Konadu, and Joel

Buabin-Konadu.

Our Lives have been full of excitement, and challenges and we have experienced the

Goodness of God at every level. The LORD JESUS has brought us through the darkest and

perilous period of our lives, as He mercifully healed me when I was diagnosed with cancer,

Stage-4 T-cell Lymphoma.

Today, as a grateful man of God, It has pleased the LORD GOD and Rev Dr. Arku, to ordain

me to the position of the Residential Pastor, of the Light Of The World Ministries, Bronx

Assembly.

“O the depths of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God,

how unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out! For

who has known the mind of the Lord, and who has become his counselor”
